| is it time for a new year already? [part 2]only a few hours of 2007 left... june: sylvia happened and it was wonderful...funny show, talented cast, awesome director.i house managed one night, and erica and zach came to town to see it. emmie babysat six homeless kittens that were adorable and cuddly. infinite ache happened and it was also wonderful. patrick and i became obsessed with the office...best television decision of my LIFE. i continued working at the musuem and was able to get through the day with the hope of going to rehearsals. and rehearsals finally gave way to moon over the brewery which was one of the most educational, emotional and thrilling experiences of my life. meredith and emily came to see the show and stayed in my apartment, so the roomies were reunited. mom and dad saw it twice, and so many other friends made trips to waco to see it: sarah, audrey, marylee, marley, louise, the royals, the wepplers. it was awesome. the cast + traci and amanda had a post show dinner at the shogun resturant. i got my first flat tire. july: i had to work on the fourth of july, which SUCKED since it was one of the busiest days of the year. but afterwards i went to cameron park with a ton of good friends and we played frisbee and saw fireworks and went night swimming at rivercrest, so it ended up as an enjoyable day. meredith/brittany/john/audrey/nick/patrick/i made tshirts and went to the midnight showing of harry potter and the order of the phoenix...camped out for three hours beforehand with tons of other fans playing trivia and being loud...so much fun. i went to houston for a bridal shower for emily, then went back to waco and worked on my 21st birthday. after work i went to a good dinner with friends and took pictures around downtown waco - a low key but enjoyable birthday. best night of the summer: harry potter and the deathly hallows release party at barnes and noble. we made shirts (of course) and i managed to win five wands. brittany won a replica of the hogwarts express. i read my book in less than twelve hours. and then i went back to houston to be a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding...emily was a beautiful bride and it was a crazy four days of bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, bridesmaid luncheon and wedding - and then i drove back to waco to work the next day. guh. august: finally was able to stop my job, but not before a kid peed on the floor in front of my desk. grrrrr. meredith and cassie and i spent some time goofing off at open gym at the local gymnastics place. i was a welcome week leader for the second year, and had an even better experience than last year....it helped that we got five free tshirts. the special event was an 80s dance, which was basically amazing. school started and i took the following classes: political science, beginning directing, advanced acting realism, theatre history III, creative dramatics and voice lessons. i went to westfest with meredith, patrick, mary, amber and trey and had so much fun, and found out that the kolaches from the czech stop are delicious. erica came back to school, but emmie went to study abroad. this is tedious. more later. | | |
| is it time for a new year already?so 2007 is almost over. i can tell i'm getting older because i'm sitting here thinking "where did the time go?" next thing you know it'll be "those were the good old days." yikes. its not really a xanga post unless i say something to the effect of "gee, i wish i was better about updating this thing, but i'm just so busy/lazy/tired/overworked to do it," so there that is. here is a brief (and by brief i mean not really) overview of some stuff that happened this year, which i write mostly so i can remember it in forty years as i sit in my rocker surrounded by cats as i reflect on the afforementioned "good old days," which i'm told are happening right now. so here we go. january: there was lots of ice in waco, and school got cancelled one time. emily and meredith and i stayed home all day and colored and watched movies instead of doing our mountains of homework...typical. there was spaco night at zach/sky/sam/justin's apartment, complete with popsicles and interpretive dancing. brittany, joey and justin got cast in earnest and i was happy for them. the friendship star invented the awkward swan secret handshake.i joined the front of house crew. my theatre history diorama on sarah bernhardt ate my soul. i was on the other end of guerrilla troupe auditions, which was actually more nervewracking than auditioning myself. we accepted patrick, joey, sky, clay and matt as our newest guerrillas.
february: i worked backstage for annie get your gun and ended up doing a lot more than i was supposed to do but had a blast anyway...sometimes i straightened patrick's hair and he hated me for it . graham cast me in his postmodern scene called words words words in which i played a monkey named kafka who was working with two other monkeys (justin and sky) to type hamlet - an amazingly fun scene, but murder on my knees. i also got to be in haley's advanced directing shakespeare scene, comedy of errors. AND i was in liz conly's beginning directing scene, vanities. i'm actually least proud of that scene...i really feel like i didn't do good work. oh well. i went to oscar parties at meredith's and erica's apartments. friendship star celebrated valentines day at red lobster.
march: i was in amanda wray's beginning directing scene, the secret rapture...oh memories. there were lots of parties at "the house." i was cast as miriam waslyk in traci's summer show moon over the brewery, which was the biggest and most unexpected blessing of my life. and emmie was cast in it with me, and joey was cast in infinite ache and sam and patrick got cast in sylvia (and patrick was the lead!) spring break happened and i got to go visit everyone at cccs before prom. patrick got his tonsils taken out so i played florence nightingale as he coughed up blood... fun? we had a really neat guerrilla troupe show with a legends of the hidden temple theme. GO BLUE BARRACUDAS. and then there was the week from hell when my wallet got stolen, $1500 was taken from my bank account, my car got towed, and erica went home for health reasons. that was a stressful several days.
april: wheeeeeeee, a new cell phone! i had the birthmark on my back removed and got a really neat scar in its place. facebook's layout changed severely and it took a long while to get used to...many were unhappy...oh, minifeed. emmie was baptized! i did hair and makeup for earnest and got to hang out with that whole amazing cast. emmie, patrick and i were hosts for the UIL one act play contest, which was amazing. we celebrated diadelernie, as usual. i played margaret in beki's shakespeare scene much ado about nothing, which we also performed for lots of high schoolers at waco hall, which was an interesting experience. erica came to visit and there was friendship star-ness at island party. lindsay came to visit from a&m! i discovered [title of show], had bahama bucks for the first time and passed my world oceans lab. brittany got her kitten, who would soon grow into kingsley, the demon feline of holiday hammons.
may: banquet was amazing, except for the part where we had to say goodbye to the seniors and the part where there was some drama, but overall it was incredible and my dress was pink and very twirly, which covers a multitude of sins. i passed all my classes, including world oceans which was touch and go at one point, and shakespeare which i started out hating but grew to almost love. i moved into my new fancy one bedroom apartment and started my summer job at the musuem, which i started out loving but grew to not. those of us who were in waco over the summer celebrated mary and meredith's 21st birthdays, which were a lot of fun. patrick and i dressed up all matchy matchy and looked very nice for elizabeth dunlap's wedding, which was gorgeous. and finally i was able to go home to see my cccs loves graduate high school. oh, high school. on may 29th i ate at panda express, which is important for reasons undisclosed. now i'm tired, so i'll finish this tomorrow...we're going to fort worth to stay with the royals for new years, so maybe i can write in the car. if i'm not sleeping. teehee. | | |
| enchanted!this movie has reaffirmed that i want to be a disney princess when i grow up...or right now. | | |
| step hop shuffle step fa-lap ball changethe triple time step is constantly in my head. thanks nunsense! i'm having a ton of fun. i'm also very nervous. i am done with directing for the semester. can i just say that group 3 pwnd? b/c we did. i am so pleased with how my scene turned out and i am even more pleased by the fact that it is over. i am so proud of bethany and sarah...i really can't even take credit for the scene, i just got lucky with two amazing actors. and its crazy how much easier it is to sleep now that the hodge is done. i don't feel guilty about doing other homework or sleeping or taking a shower anymore. its great. unexpected blessing alert: got cast in bye bye birdie as mrs mae peterson! i know what you're thinking....HOLY BALLS!!! b/c i'm thinking it too. ugh...i am soooo excited. its a brilliant cast, full of people with whom i am dying to work. and there's the part where i'm playing patrick's mama...amazing. fall is finally starting to show up. there is a tree outside my apartment that has orange leaves. imagine that...leaves that change color with the seasons! starbucks has started using their holiday cups, which makes me happier than it should. it's becoming hoodie weather and sometimes i can even wear long sleeved shirts. huzzah! today i discovered that my political science professor moonlights as a country music artist. he has a music myspace page and everything. i am simultaneously amused and horrified. i am ready for thanksgiving. i miss my family. after rehearsal today i had a lot of thoughts so i went for a drive that had no destination and ended up at beatnix coffee house. i ordered a white chocolate mocha and sat down in a comfy chair and read a book of poetry, and as i sipped my trendy coffee and read works by emily bronte i realized that i was quickly becoming a stereotypical college kid. and i liked it. step hop shuffle step fa-lap ball change hop shuffle step fa-lap ball change hop shuffle step fa-lap ball change hop shuffle step fa-lap ball change. | | |
